17 Jun 2026, 11:55 BST — Resolved
Microsoft has confirmed this issue is now resolved. The problem caused some users’ presence in Microsoft Teams to display incorrectly (e.g. showing as “Away”), primarily affecting users in EMEA and anyone interacting with them.
Microsoft has attributed it to a configuration issue in the EMEA region that prevented some client requests from resolving service endpoints correctly. The issue ran from 09:30 to 10:35 BST and service has since been restored, with Microsoft confirming resolution via their telemetry and with affected customers.
No further action is required on your part. If you continue to see incorrect presence, restarting the Teams client should clear it. Microsoft has advised they will publish a post-incident report in due course.
