Windows XP Support Ending on 8th April 2014
April 7th, 2014
Categories: IT Support

8th April signifies the End of support for Windows XP. From that date you will no longer have access to Windows XP software updates, security updates, hotfixes, free support options or online technical content updates. Running Windows XP after its end of support date will expose you to security risks.
Now is a great time to upgrade to the New Microsoft Office and Windows 8 operating system. You’ll get complete support, including key security updates to help keep you compliant, non-security hot fixes, assisted-support options, and technical content updates—plus the latest Office tools to help you increase productivity.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF I DON’T UPGRADE?
Running Office 2003 or Windows XP after the end-of-support date may expose your company to security risks and technology limitations, including:
Security Risk: No new security updates can leave unsupported and unpatched environments vulnerable to security risks.
Compliance Risk: End- of- support may result in an officially recognised control failure by an internal or external audit body. Noncompliance can lead to a suspension of certifications and/or public notification of the organisation’s inability to maintain its systems and customer information.
Lack of On-going Updates: There will be no more non-security hot fixes, free or paid assisted support options, or online technical content updates—limitations which could negatively impact your productivity and growth.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
It’s simple: upgrade to the new Microsoft Office and Windows 8 operating system right away.
