Tactical RMM Highlights

Discover how Tactical RMM simplifies IT management with powerful features and a user-friendly interface, designed to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Installing Tactical RMM requires a bit of Linux know-how and is best done on a dedicated server. The process is user-friendly, and updating involves simply downloading and running a bash script. For a smooth installation and upgrade experience, it's advisable to assign a public IP address to the server hosting Tactical RMM.
User Interface
Experience a clean, modern, and fast user interface with Tactical RMM. Manage the entire life cycle of your client machines seamlessly under a single pane of glass.
Client Onboarding
Start by setting up your client and site structure. Then, create a deployment, specifying the agent type, expiration date, agent ping, RDP support, and OS architecture. You can install the agent on client machines via GPO, PowerShell, or manually. Within a minute of installation, the agent will appear in your managed client section, with updates handled automatically by the Tactical RMM server.
Managing Clients
Manage your clients efficiently by performing routine maintenance and providing remote support. Access machine and asset information, view installed software, and install new applications from the Chocolatey library. Execute scripts from the Tactical RMM script library, schedule checks, and receive alerts via email or SMS. Schedule tasks (e.g., PowerShell or batch files) and run them in "Collector Mode" to update host inventory fields. Tasks can also be triggered by failed scheduled checks.
Automation Manager
The Automation Manager allows you to assign scheduled checks and tasks at the client or site level. Set patch management policies based on severity, deciding whether patches are automatically installed, manually installed, or ignored. You can also schedule patch installations and configure automatic reboots if required.
User Management
Tactical RMM simplifies user and permission management with a granular permission scheme. All significant actions are logged for auditing purposes. Currently, only local authentication with enforced 2FA is supported, but SAML/LDAP integration is planned for the future.
Tactical RMM ensures security by separating API endpoints used for agent management from those used for the user interface. While the Open Source RMM Agent executable isn't digitally signed, a GitHub subscription service offers digitally signed agent files. To use the Open Source agent, add the agent folder/executables to your endpoint protection software's exclusion list.
